The Big Damn Movie:
Some progress has been made, but I've spent most of the past few weeks working on the problem of text. Last year, all the text was done in photoshop and then imported in, not done directly with imovie as in the first movie. I think I'll be using photoshop again. After experimenting with a couple different fonts and text styles in imovie, there is no way to avoid some major issues. Lines will be too small and there is no way in hell to make larger descriptions work. Its a shame cause working with imovie would go much faster. C'est la vie.
ScavOlympics is going to be an intense section. Lots of good pics (thanks to a photo-happy fascist) and of course, concluding with the triumph of the USS Dumbass Moo. I'm worried about there being enough pics of items, looks like judgement pics might be a bit on the slim side as compared to previous years. No matter, onward and upward, and always twirling towards freedom. Now I just have to start working on making the photoshop text. Going to try and improve on last year, always the Palevsky way. Smaller images with more centralized text and importing all at once. Hopefully it will work.
Also, figured out the end of the judgment scene. Not sure how to tie it into the intro but it works to well not to use, especially as this is the final episode in my Scav Hunt Triology.
Scav Music Video #1:
Some progress. Listening to the song alot and starting to get an idea on the various lyrics. Probably done by mid-July.
The Pretensious Project:
Half way, done some amazing work. Finished the Dawn, Fight and Moon scenes. Rewatched the footage for the transition from the Oedipus to Stargate. Some good stuff, but its pretty short. I think once its captured and in imovie it will make sense. Next is the footage of the ship and then onto Oedipus. Had a great realization for the later the other night, amazed I didn't think of it before. Projected finish date: End of August.
Hero:
Footage has been found on DVD, some one bump over. I think I'll be getting it in about 3 weeks. That leaves 12 days to make the whole thing. Will try and get it all set up before hand. The video transfer will be the hardest part in terms of time.

Underdogs
This one's for the freaks, as the band says, and this my third attempt at regular blogging is heading in that direction. More a place to post random thoughts and progress on various video projects this time around. We'll see how this one goes.
Project #1: The Big Damn Movie
I currently have a decent amount of pics and vids from this year's hunt to start going at it. Using a slightly modified format from last year, dividing the whole thing into about 5 different smaller movies (Inter-submersible units Kubrick would say in this entry's dash of pretension) to be spliced together later. Per the advice of Aristotle, going to start at the beginning with the ScavOlympics and go forward. Work on the Intro sequence will begin soon, the idea is mapped out, now to see if its doable. Hoping the judges update the gallery soon. Still more to be found on facebook.
Project #2: Scav Music Videos
Have the picked out for 2 videos. Nothing more on that right now. Going to get a good feel for the stuff I have before going hard into those. One should be finished by the end of July, another available sometime soon after.
Project #3: Hero
Need to figure out how to convert VHS to DVD or computer file. VHS is copyrighted so can't do it at a store, despite fair use laws. Grumble, grumble.
Project #4: Pretentious Project
Still not recovered from losing the whole thing in January. 50% finished, should get done over the summer.
In other more important new, RIP Richard Rorty.
